Tierra del Fuego has attracted sea kayakers from all over the world. In February 2011, the Yaghan Expedition is an attempt by three paddlers from Tierra del Fuego to cross the Strait de la Maire, the treacherous waters separating Tierra del Fuego from the stunningly beautiful Isla de los Estados (Staten Island) followed by a first circumnavigation of the island.
