Arguably one of the last and perhaps the greatest challenge in sea kayaking is going to be attempted by the Inukshuk Northwest Passage Expedition.

Check out their website: http://www.inukshukexpedition.com/index.php

The challenge is immense and success will rely on the weather being kind, melting the ice early and then keeping the broken pack ice from clogging their route. Of the four team members Nigel Foster is perhaps the most well known in the world of sea kayaking with some very notable paddles to his name including the first circumnavigation of Iceland in 1977 with Geoff Hunter.

The team will be using Seaward Kayaks and Kokatat dry suits.

UPDATE – JULY 2010:

From Nigel Foster – the expedition is postponed to 2011 to ensure that the scientific equipment they will be using will be ready.
