Sean Morley known as the 'Kayak Cop' completes his 2004 challenge after paddling 4,500 miles! The 39-year-old police officer from St Erth has finally entered Falmouth to a heroes welcome!

Midday on Sunday 26th September and Sean hits the pontoon in front of the 'Events Square' at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.

Sean said that he was glad to be back in Cornwall, but had mixed feelings about completing his challenge, “It has been an amazing six months that I will never forget.

I am really tired and keen to get back to my own bed, I know that I will miss being out on the water, so I am trying to enjoy every last minute of my journey.”

Local hero Pete Goss MBE, who offered his support for Sean’s charity challenge. “I know from experience that it is quite a challenge to sail round Britain.

The weather and tidal conditions make it difficult for even the most experienced seafarer in a well-found yacht. To think of Sean achieving this alone in a kayak around some of the remotest parts of the country is quite amazing.

The combination of physical, mental and emotional strain he has put himself through over the last six months - in order to raise money for the RNLI and Marine Conservation Society - is incredible. I look forward to meeting him.”

Members of the public were invited to welcome Sean back when he returned to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, in Falmouth. Many gathered to watch him sail in and finish his journey.
